My 2003 Ford Explorer has a problem. It chuggs, stalls out, and sees to want to jump ahead or jerk forward. I had this problem last year and it was serviced at my local Ford dealership and they said I had gas in my oil. I had it serviced and shortly after it restarted again. I am not sure what causes this and don't want to take it back there because I am not sure they really know what is actually wrong with it. I asked several other repair shops and no clue. I don't want to spend alot of money just to have it restart all over again. Some say it is too much short trips around town. I have driven it on the highway several times and still had the issue. I was hoping there was someone out there who has had the same issue and could give me an idea about my vehicle. Thank you.

if you have codes it makes it easier for us to help you fuel in oil is not a common problem but it does happen but if i cant get codes first thing i do is check for vacuum leaks paying good attention pcv tube. then check fuel filter then plugs

i had my 96 jeep do the samething with me.ummmmmmm it would be a number of possibiltys of what it could be,hard to say for sure.do u have a check engine like come on at all,if so,see if u can get the codes for it,it would help alot more.but it could be an idle air control valve gone bad, ignition coil starting to fail, automatic shutdown relay, could be the fuel pump going out,or the fuel pump relay, the power control module, could be an o2 sensor going bad, just a number of things that it could be,i know this probaly wasnt much help, but if u can get ne trouble codes to come up,email me with them and i can give u more help.i am a ford guy.
