2003 chevy impala, odd noise and keyless entry doesn't work?

When I'm driving my car, and I stop at a stop light, then go, sometimes there is a weird almost *thunking* noise in the front end. Is it possibly the shocks or struts?? It also makes the noise sometimes when I hit a dip or something.

Also, my keyless entry FOB doesn't work. I followed the instructions in my manual to reset it, after I replaced the batteries, but it still doesn't work. :( What do I need to do??
