I am a 17 year old teenager and I'll drive this car about 4 miles a day (2 for going 2 for coming back) and the car that I am trying to buy has around 80,500 miles. I've also heard that this car has a transmission problems. 2 questions for this.....

1. With the transmission problems, will this seriously affect me if I drive it about 4 miles a day (except for weekends)?

2. Will my insurance increase since its an Luxury car, I have allstate?

(if you know any cheap insurance for teenagers please tell me because allstate charges $1000 every 6 months.)

Please respond, don't ignore, give it your best thought!!!

The transmission problems won't go away just because you drive the car a short distance. Distance is irrelevant. A bad transmission won't fix itself. It will certainly affect the car and it's ability to get you safely from point A to point B.

A luxury car will be expensive to insure. But at least it isn't a sports car. It's a 4 door sedan.

Have a certified mechanic inspect the car and give you an estimate for the transmission repairs. Take the estimate to the seller and negotiate a lower selling price.
