Hey everyone. I am looking at two cars, which are both priced the same at $7,000. also, both have clean carfax reports. They both also have power everything. A 2002 Toyota Corolla with 74,000 miles, and a 2005 Ford Focus with 50,000 miles. Which is the better deal and which is the safest bet?

Addtional Info- I am 18, and I am commuting to college and work. Rarely to never drive on the highway

Ford Focus.

While ford hasn't had the biggest name in reliability, they're quality and reliability has been improving dramatically.

All the major problems in the focus were worked out by 2001-2002 models.

The corolla had a few years in 2000-2002 where engine sludge was a problem, and it was never recalled:

The ford is newer, is more stylish, more comfortable in seating, and has less miles which means a newer engine :)

good luck!

i would say a 2002 toyota because the ford focus if not a really reliable car. The toyota is a really good car to go for and its not a bad choice if you want a car thats going to last a while.
