Hi any help would be much appreciated,
My 2002 Subaru Outback is making a high pitch constant noise upon pushing down the gas pedal down and accelerating. It gets a lot louder once you are over 40mph and is constant as long as you have your foot on the gas pedal. It just has gotten to the point of annoyance now because it's so loud while driving down the highway. It almost sounds like a remote control car, with that electric hum to it. But once you take your foot off and coast the noise subsides.
It also doesn't make this noise while just running in idle....so I don't think its the belt. But I guess I don't know for sure.
Thanks for your time.
It's A/T (automatic).
