2002 Pontiac Grand Am. when I accelerate the engine chugs and hesitates?

When I accelerate from a red light or in general the engine will chug and hesitate like it doesnt want to go. If I go at a steady speed, say 40mph and leave it there it will also do the same thing. It chugs like it doesnt want to go. I have no check engine/service vechicle lights on, and I plugged a Tech2 into the car and there are no codes showing. I have changed the fuel filter thinking that may be the problem, and it wasnt. I then changed the spark Plugs and wires, still does it. The car as 93,000 miles on it. I am now really confused as to what would be causing the car to chug while accelerating or staying at a steady speed. Any thought or input would be helpful. Thanks
