2002 Mazda Tribute Reverse problem?

I just bought a 2002 Mazda Tribute 4WD Automatic it has 114,000 miles .
when I put gear in reverse it doesn't move unless I give it some gas it takes a 1 second or 2 to move after giving gas . it that normal or there is a problem ?

I forgot to mention it does move forward normal and shifts normal .
