I took my Jeep in to get a valve spring replaced. When I got it back, it now has an exhaust leak, vacuum leak, and what appears to be a leak from the head gasket. I know this because I took it to another shop when it was still acting funny.

Can anyone tell me if the 1st shop should have replaced the Head Gasket when they worked on my valve spring? They didn't (or at least they didn't itemize it on my receipt) and if they should have I'm hoping they will cover the cost of labor to fix what they should have fixed in the first place

You did not say how long it was, did /was this happening when you picked it up?right away? If so turn around & bring it back ASAP & tell/show them.they should fix it for free. there are two ways they could have done this job. It is possible to compress that cylinder threw the spark plug hole with the proper tools & air etc. but if that was done then the exhaust would not have to be removed either. Yes, done the conventional way you would have to remove the head from the engine. The intake and the exhaust would be removed also. New gaskets would have to be replaced or most likely they would leak. Also the vacuum leaks tells me they took the intake off and did not get the lines back on right. Either way they did not fix it right. Good Luck, Hope this is some help for you. bring it back, I would.
