2002 Jaguar X Type vs. 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP?

Hi I'm just posting this to get an insight on what people think on which vehicle would be a more suitable choice (reliability, repair cost, etc.). My parents have given a choice on which vehicle I want/need. But to be honest I just don't know. Heck I even ask them on which i should pick, well lets just say that's why I here.

Both have roughly the same mileage (119,000 miles)
The jag is for $5500 and the pontiac is for $6500

Rumor/Facts?
The jaguar has AWD which is great, since I live in an area which pretty much sees a foot of snow every other day. My only concerns are is a Jaguar expensive to maintain? And its a jaguar! but does the name alone enough?

The pontiac I've heard is a very reliable car and not so reliable? Since its a pontiac I'm guessing its cheaper to maintain? Its also the larger of the two.
I'm guessing both vehicle pretty much get the same mpgs?

I'm a college bound kid, I guess I'm just looking for a car I can get from point A to point B safely

Get the Grand Prix GTP, its a fun car, looks great, fwd so its good in snow, good mpgs, cheap to maintain and repair, 3800 series II V6 is a great engine and was on wards 10 best engines list. great car all around

the Jag is nice but will cost waaaay to much for repairs and maintenence. Something to remember, "old" low priced luxury cars are very appealing but remeber, you are paying for repairs and maintenence on the car based on what the sticker price was originally, not on what is now. between the two the Pontiac is more reliable. Good luck on the buy.
