Today I was driving my 2002 Honda CRV, has about 83,000 miles on it. Suddenly as I was driving, the accelerator got stuck. Every time I would step on the gas and release my foot off the gas, the accelerator remained in the same place ( it was not decelerating, it remained constant ). I stepped on the brakes but it did nothing because the brakes can't brake if the car is accelerating. I put it on the emergency brakes, and quickly pulled over and yanked it into *Park* and turned off the car. The problem was resolved when I turned the car on ( keep in mind that as the car turned on the car immediately began to accelerate as it was in park ) , and stepped on the accelerator really hard and the accelerator gradually came back to normal and wasn't accelerating on itself anymore. However the issue aroused again 15minutes later after I started driving again.
Any thoughts on this issue would greatly be appreciated, thanks
