What is the name of the part that is between the Transfer Case and the Transmission on a 2002 Ford F150 4x4? It is just a hollow housing that connects the two.
No, it is between the transfer case and the tail of the transmission. It is a hollow peice. I need to find the gasket for it.

i think u may b looking at the bell housing for transmissiondoes it have a bunch of bolts going thru it into back of engione if so bell housing

on gm trucks it's called a transfer case adapter. on a 2wd trans, there would be a tailshaft housing. On the 4WD, the transfer case needs to be adapted to the rear of the trans. Hence, the transfer case adapter.

it is considered the tailshaft housing, some of the older trucks had adapter housings, but yours is new enough that it is just the tailshaft. It is probably a cast aluminum or metal piece. Ford should know what you are talking about for just a simple gasket.
