I went to start my F150 and it just clicked. So I thought well it's the starter so I put a junk yard starter in and well the same problem(had the old one tested and it was fine). Hmm maybe it's the battery after a a new battery it should be as good as new, Not! Same problem. It just makes a clicking noise like there isn't enough power to start it, I am thinking or replacing the EX starter solenoid. Even though I tried jumping the starter solenoid by shorting the leads and it still didn't start, The truck has 170K miles on it and never had any issue. I will ad that always does this when it hasn't been running for a while, when it's cold. It will start when it has had time to warm up. I even swapped out the 40 amp starter fuse with no avail. Whats next?

Ok, if you do indeed have an external starter solenoid, this would be one of your main troubles, how ever keep in mind that if you do not have the battery terminal ends to the "starter" tight, you hear a clicking sound because your connection is not "tight". This in turn will cause you "resistance". Don't go crazy tight, just fit. Remember to keep this in mind, never replace a stater w / out replacing the solenoid.
