2002 Ford Escape starts then dies... Whats Wrong?

When I start my car, the engine gets up to about 2000rpm and then cuts out. If I keep my foot on the gas, the car will stay on until I take my foot off. I even managed put it in drive and drive around the block but as soon as I stopped and took my foot off the gas, the engine dies. I'm assuming that the engine is having trouble getting gas. Any ideas???
 
Replace the throttlebody valve gasket
This is way too old and has warped out of round, remove the throttlebody, view the gasket, oily ? warped ? needs to be replaced, it is allowing way too much "air" for the air/fuel mixture, this is why it dies by the way, the valve gasket is only $3.00 USD
