2002 Ducati monster 750 dark Temperature.?

hello , i have a 2002 ducati monster 750 dark and i was wondering whats the idle temperature and the maximum it can get?? today i was riding and it got up to 250 degrees F. is that normal? its an air cooled engine? please let me know. thank you!
usually stays on 200-220.. today i was riding on traffic in manhattan NY . 1st - 2nd ...
the temperature was around 100F.
when i ride on the highway the top temp is 200F on a warm day.. 180F at night time.
 
The temp gauge on my 600 monster always spikes at idle, all the air-cooled Monsters will show numbers upwards of 250 on the gauge when idling in traffic.

I can't remember if the '02's have the cooling fans? If not, that might be a good addition if you're doing a bunch of around-town riding.
