2002 Dodge Ram 1500 4.7L will not turn over?

I assume you mean that the starter will not crank the engine.
The first thing that comes to mind is the nuetral safty switch that requires the transmission selector must be in neutral or park before the starter will engage. Try moving the selector to neutral and try starting the engine, or try jiggling the selector while attempting to crank the starter.
Next, I would open the hood and trace the heavy gauge battery cable that runs from the positive battery terminal to the starter. Look for loose connections or corrosion. Clean the connections and make sure they are tight.
If these steps don't solve the problem, see if you can manually turn the engine's crankshaft. Make sure the battery is disconnected, and use a large socket wrench to turn the nut on the crankshaft pulley. If you can't turn it at all, the engine is seized and requires major work.
If you can turn the crankshaft pulley, than I would suspect the starter has failed. Remove it and bench test it for proper operation.
If the strater operates on the bench, then there is probably a problem in the strater circuit, perhaps a failed ignition/starter switch.

no car expert or anything it could be your starter, alternator, or even spark plugs...take it to the shop and get a real mechanic to look at it. good luck!

before you try to take the starter out (now i'm not crazy) have someone try to start the car while you lay on the ground and tap the starter with a hammer. should the car then start you'll have to replace the starter. even if it doesn't turn over it may still be the starter or the solenoidd that drives the starter. if the battery is new then the alternator shouldn't come in to play. it keeps things running but doesn't stop the car from turning over except that if it's bad it won't recharge the battery and then the motor won't turn over.

check for corrosion on battery cables, make sure terminals are tight, make sure all lights radio work when you turn key on. Listen for any sounds when you try to start truck. Tap your starter and then try to start could be starter if not that check fuses also and then last resort could be your ignition switch.
