Ok my step dad bought me this intrepid and it backfires bad. we have done all the following
Replaced all o2 sensors
replaced oil sending unit
replaced gas cap
changed all filters
We have been to 3 mechanics who have pro computers and they all read random missfires. After clearing codes the car runs fine for a whole day and then starts its normal shit again. I leave out of my drive way and its fine untill i come up to the first turn i have to take and i keep pushing on the pedal and im not going anywhere and it backfires - a lot - it wont go untill i slam it to the floor but after we make it out of first gear, it works fine. I backfires from every stop and it is getting worse every day. Dodge has my car right now and they claim that after market oxygen sensors fuck the car up. Is that a bunch of shit? Could this car turn out to be a lemon? What happens if dodge cant fix it? Whats wrong with it? This is a 2.7 v6 which i know have their notorious problems all of which have been investigated.
