I bought a smashed 2002 Durango. It was hit in the front. So I had to replace both front air bags on the inside.
Well the seat belts are locked. Both drivers side and passenger seat belts. They will not move.
Now I have to get a wire for the drivers side air bag, because the new bag did not come with the new wire. So the air bag light is still on.
I have a couple questions. 1st will I need a derm?
And 2nd what do I need to do to get the seat belts to work again?
Will I have to replace the seat belts? Or once I install the wire in the drivers side bag....will they start to work? And the air bag light go out?
Thanks for any help.
I love the Durango with the 4.7L. It moves pretty good.
Usually you need a drivers side air bag, a passenger side air bag and an air bag derm.
Like you said usually a 1 time use.
I had a 2000 explorer and once I swaped out both bags the airbag light went out, So some cars don't need the derm changed out. So I did not know how this Durango was.
