2001 Yamaha Warrior 350 is it over heating?

Hi, my warrior has always ran great, but one day i was riding about 30 minutes,(i was gittin on it alittle more than ussual) but it started cuttin out on me, meaning it started boggin down when i would give it gas. I let it sitt about an hour, then it ran great again. So did I over heat it or what was goin on? Thanks for any help! oh yea it has k/n filter no lid air box, Cobra pipe, jetted 40
