My check engine light came on, I had a diagnostics test ran and it came up 1404 "EGR valve stuck open condition". I replaced my EGR valve, had code cleared and my check engine light came back on 45 seconds after it was cleared.
I have unplugged the battery, reinstalled the new EGR valve and a half a dozen other things that people have said to do.
I had the code cleared again yesterday. Let the car run for a few minutes, shut it off and turned it back on again about 4 more times. I had valve covers changed today and the person took the car for a drive and the check engine light came back on. What do I do?
I can not pass my emissions test in the state of Illinois until the light is off.
