...replaced. vehicle had ? overheated when radiator cracked. after new radiator was replaced the car still overheated because a hose was not properly secured, vehicle still overheated. It has coolant- antifreeze could it be the thermostat which was not replaced? if so how much does it cost or how much does it cost to have it replaced?
 
Before spending any more money, try a new radiator cap, as it's the most overlooked item in the cooling system, and responsible for many overheat problems.
 
Thermostats are cheaper than dirty and easy to replace.

There is a way to check a thermostat, which involves checking it with a gap gauge after putting it in a kettle of water heated to above the temperature where it is supposed to open. I've always figured that as cheap as they are (<$5), if I've already removed an old one, I'll just replace it whether its good or not.

This is not the only thing that would allow an engine to overheat, but its the cheapest and easiest to remedy. Be cautious operating an overheated engine. You may have already cracked the block or warped the heads. That's bad news!
