2001 honda prelude question?

whenever im on the gas (flooring my car) and i reach high rpms, like 6-7k my car seems to almost act like its hitting the limiter, but it doesn't do it all the time. like it buckles and looses power, i can tell when im accelerating its going to happen when it does because its not accelerating as fast as it can. car is stock. check engine light isn't on
