We recently bought a 2001 Honda Odyssey EX (automatic) and have had a slew of problems with things so far. Our newest problem is that we've noticed that you can shift the car into gear without the key being in the ignition. My husband is somewhat handy so he took the dash apart and realized that there is a white plastic piece (which seems to "lock" the shifter from being able to shift into gear) is broken and therefore is allowing you to change the gear without power. Can anyone tell me what this piece is called so that we can attempt to order one and have my husband take a stab at fixing it himself to help save money! It seems VERY dangerous to not have this fixed but it seems like it could be an easy fix! Thanks a bunch!
