i have a question about my 2001 honda civic lx. I believe the issue is somehow related to the work done on my car for a timing belt replacement about a month ago, but i'm not sure (i don't know HALF JACK about cars or anything). Just a few days ago, while driving home one night from my girlfriend's house, i noticed that when i started the car up, it began making an usual sound from the left side of the engine from where i was sitting in the driver's seat. The AC was turned off before i started the car, and when i did turn the AC on, the sound sorta muted. Now, today, i'm on my way to school (about a ten or twelve mile drive) with the air conditioner on, i notice very faint smoke coming from under the hood of my car once i stopped at a stop light. I checked the reading for the heat of the car on my dash, and it was at the normal 1/4 away from Cool. Is there a chance that something that cools my car was unplugged from under the hood, my long time neighbor and friend said that it is probably due to a bearing on some strip, but, i don't know what to do, i'm in a family situation where we are budgeting our money usage, any thoughts yahoo answers community? do i need to go to a repair shop, is my thermostat broken, what should i do?
