2001 Honda Civic Help?

My car just died going down the high way and it will not start back up it just keeps turning over. When you turn key to on it shows it has about a half a tank of gas but when you try starting it it drops below the E can anyone tell me what the problem could be
it don't have spark plug wires it has Coils or something like that 4 individual things u take bolt out of you can see them sparking bye looking threw the top of them
I was going to but one time i was trying to start it it made a sound like it was going to start but didn't and normally when it the timing it will turn over a lot fast then normal
 
have you pulled the plug wires to see if you getting spark????

I dont know why the fuel guage would drop.
 
check your timing belt. it may be broken, which would explain why you car quit going down the highway
