Sounds like a fair price to me. Not sure why people on this site trash automatic trans. on Honda's. I have had about 8 of them over 30 years and never had a failure. Just do a drain and replaced the fluid at 50K miles or so.

It has 153,662 miles, its an Automatic, 2 Door, it looks to be well maintained and they're asking $3,999. My questions are is that expensive for a car with such high mileage? and will it last? i need a car for at least 4 years and am going to put close to 100k miles on, would a Civic with such miles make it to 250k miles?

I dont pay as much as book value or asking value but if you can get it for a little bit cheaper it should be a good deal. make sure that timing belt and water pump were done as they are definitely past due. I believe they were due at 90k or 110k miles for this year civic, if the dealer does it , it is about an 800 dollar job i think? Also the only thing I would worry about on the civic is automatic transmissions, hondas have never had great auto trannys, but if it was maintained and fluid looks reddish pink and shifts good it should last you for a very long time.

The civic will last 250k miles or more if you do the proper maintenance on it. Offer $3500 on it, but $4000 is a fair deal i think for a relatively young civic.
