2001 Ford Ranger Squeaky bearing noise from pulleys?

I have a 2001 ford ranger 4.0L and recently had the water pump by-pass hose spring a leak.
After replacement of this hose a squeaky bearing like noise has been present through out all operating temperatures. I replaced the upper idler pulley thinking that was it but its still there and not sure what to do next. Im thinking it could be the alternator, lower idler pulley or water pump since the noise is coming from that area. Ive been told to take the belt off and spray wd40 on the backside of them.
The alternator was just replaced a month before the leak so im not sure if the antifreeze would have ruin it being that its brand new, but just the thought of any liquids squirting on it probably would do it. IMHO
