2001 ford focus lurching, dying in hot weather?

01 ford focus 2.0, dies while in town driving, on highway it lurches when accelerating like to pass or go up hills. also does same thing while in park sometimes. if you floor it while driving it will just lurch real bad and not accelerate. it only does it during the summer, and doesnt do it all the time. there is no check engine light on.
 
My 1998 Ford Contour does that too, when I had it. To fix it I change the ignition wires and spark plug. If that does not work, you would have to change the coil pack or distributor. Which was what I did with my car and it does the trick. You should leave the coil pack for last because it is the most expansive item on this list.

A complete tune up could maybe necessary.

I think and 90% sure it is the coil pack.

The rule of thump for me is that when something goes wrong in extreme hot or cold condition, it is electrical.
