2001 ford focus is the fuel pump going bad ?

my gar acts like it isnt getting enough gas , i will push on the gas and it barely will get over 30 mph , it wont go any faster , then it kinda shakes ...the engine light came on , well the next day it was driving fine , the engine light went off ... I just asumed i got some bad gas , well 4 days later it is doing the same thing ....what could this be ??
 
I would have the cat. converter check first thing. Go to an exhaust / muffler shop.
