So I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 5.9L, I took it out offroading a few months ago and sumerged the axles in water. When I got back onto pavement, I noticed that my Speedometer and Odometer weren't working, the ABS and E-Brake lights were on along with the check engine light and 1st and 2nd gears were shifting at 3K Rpms. I've searched on the internet about the problems and found very similar symptoms but not the exact. As of right now I'm kinda tight with funds and don't have the money to go out and buy a bunch of parts to see which is the right one. I went into my local auto parts store and got a price on an ABS SENSOR which was about $45. I'm not sure what the difference is between an ABS SENSOR and a VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR. I heard there is a VSS on the tranny, rear diffrential, and one on each of the front disc brakes. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
