I have a 2001 Dodge Caravan SE 4cylinder 2.4L Motor. Most of the parts are stock and have never been changed. The last 2 winters I have had no heat at all what so ever. Last Summer my Radiator got clogged and stopped accepting coolant so I replaced it. The heater core still doesn't work. Im guessing whatever was clogged in the radiator also clogged the heater core. I disconnected the heater core hoses and ran radiator flush threw it, let it sit and then flushed it out with a garden hose. I flushed water threw the heater core and I held it until it pushed all the debris and rust particles out and only clear water came out at a steady full force flow from the opposite end. For one the car runs better, motor heats up faster, and the heat works a little bit for about 5-10 minutes or so at hot then warm to COLD!!. In the past I would get minimal heat on fan setting 1 or 2 and it would go cold almost instantly. after flushing the heater core I get heat up to fan setting 3 and the heat will work 5-10 minutes and turn cold. Apparently whatever I flushed out the heater core helped but wasn't the exact problem.
Does this mean I need a new heater core?
Is there something else I should look at?
Like vacuum hoses or a/c and heat vent doors not closing?
Any and all help and comments are greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

you may also have a problem with heat flap door not opening up and staying open on it i get them in the shop like this, the main control unit will eventually leak down and cause the door to close shutting off the heat, and you could also still need a new heater core,if there was enough junk and debris in the engine it could have gotten back in to the heater core, and the opening are very small on those and the will stop up really fast,id try checking the main control unit first on it and see if its good,i got a box full of those things that i have switched out, they do go bad more often than most people think they do and they are the last thing most people will replace, good luck.
