Happens at random, getting worst recently. I seem to notice it when I'm idling, or parked for a little while, where the fuel gauge indicator will show what I currently have in the fuel tank, then suddenly it'll start bouncing around on its own, going up and down at random and at different speeds, then it'll shoot straight to the top and stay there for a few minutes, then suddenly drops straight to Empty and stays there until I shut the car off and start back up again. I'm not a car expert, never seen this issue before, so I am at a loss here. I don't want to spend a lot of money on a repair shop to tear open my car and tell me its my tires and my windows (bit of an exaggeration I know but shops aren't always honest when they think they can get away with it) and other crap that don't relate to the real problem, and I don't want to run out of fuel if the indicator is always incorrect as time goes by.
