...to fix it? Okay, have a 2000 Pontiac Sunfire SE Coupe, 2.2L 4cyl. My brother-in-law decided to take a look at it last weekend. I stopped and bought freon with leak sealer with te UV dye in it. We added the freon, empty the can and bam, the compressor kicked in. We then checked the charge and then begain to look with the UV light to see if we could spot a leak, we could not. Then checked the charge and it needed a little more, so we added more freon untill it showed it was in the correct charge zone. We place a a multimeter that reads temps in the car and put the lead inside the air vent, watched the temp drop to about 64 or so. I then kept the multimeter and the lead in to read the temp of air coming out of vent and took it for a spin, and the temp got down to around 48 at its lowest and was around 55-60 while sitting at a stoplight. I was happy, so I drove it home and didnt drive it until later that night, the a/c was still working blowing cold air out. A full day later without driving it, this morning I start the car and notice warm air blowing out of the vents, I check the temp again and it was reading in the upper 80s. When I got to work I popped the hood and the compressor is running, but now just getting warm air out of the vents. Before we added freon, my compressor was not running, now it is, but blowing warm air. What should be the proper next step in checking this to fix it, I would like to not have to take it to a shop and pay hundreds. A friend said it could be the orffice tube clogged. Does anyone have any suggestions to give? It seems to me it is leaking somewhere, and at a fast pace, but do not know what to do now.
