2000 Pontiac Grand prix SE 3.1L overheating?

Hey. I've got an interesting problem with my Grand prix and I've read too many articles, but I need more ideas. The car sometimes overheats, especially during the summer. Well, the car has jerking movements a few minutes after I turn my AC on, or if I leave the highway, or if I just idle. Other times it's just fine, like when it's cold. I have seen some residue in my reservoir tank, and there was some kind of internal coolant loss, but that problem reduced with time. I've heard all sorts of things like it could be a burst intake manifold, but if that happened there would be more serious signs. I've also heard that the radiator neck may need cleaning and a new thermostat put, I've heard it could be the head gasket, I've heard too many things. Is there anyone with any ideas? I see the fans moving, the problem is not severe unless I push the car hard.
