2000 pontiac grand am gt 115,359 miles coolant leak?

at first i thought it was the coolant sensor next to the Thermostat housing i thought it was that also but their was no leak so their was no reason to take it apart it seems like its coming from the left around the the thermostat housing but i don't see any gasket any idea if any one has a engine diagram that i could site our next best answer the ten points is all yours
 
Its a Grand Am GT which means it has the 60-degree V6 which means it is more than likely what you really have is a Lower Intake Manifold Gasket leak. They all leak eventually. I had one in the shop yesterday where not just one but all 4 water passages had failed and about a gallon of coolant ended up getting mixed in with the oil in the sump. Amazing it still ran. 6 hours and a new set of gaskets later she ran like a top.

BTW - T-stat housing gaskets almost never leak on these motors. Any fluid you are seeing there is likely seeping from that intake gasket.
 
YOUR THERMOSTAT GASKET COULD BE LEAKING BUT MORE OR LIKELY IT IS THE INTAKE GASKET LEAKING, THE INTAKE GASKETS LEAKING ARE A COMMON PROBLEM, THIS PROBLEM NEEDS TO BE FIXED OR DAMAGE MAY OCCUR, HAVE A PRO LOOK AT IT AND REPAIR IT

wel lreally if you can see it has a leak them replace it and if you didnt see a gasket then buy one or make one and every thermosta housing wil have a gasket if not they leak
 
....if your car has the black plastic intake with the thermostat housing all in one unit, then i can guaranty its crack slightly where the two bolts mount the thermostat cover.
 
There is a rubber gasket that slips onto the rim of the thermostat itself, but that doesn't usually leak. The common cause of a coolant leak on the 3.4 engine that you have, would be the lower intake manifold gasket. It was made of a plastic frame with a silicone bead secured in the middle. The problem was that the plastic would crack, and the coolant could travel through the channel in the plastic. The revised gasket is a metal frame with silicone bonded to both sides. It's made by fel-pro.

You should get one, because the coolant usually leaks into the engine oil too. You have to remove the push rods to replace the gasket, so be extra careful, because there are two different length push rods in there.
