Battery and Starter work, I had AutoZone test both. Car was running great with no other problems prior. I have noticed when you turn the key to just the on position all the dash lights come on like normal (oil, temp, batt, ect.) EXCEPT for the check engine light. I know it use to come on prior to starting and when the car did start it went off. Not sure why or even if its related?
Through all my testing it seems as if the starter is not getting a signal from the ignition to charge the solenoid and activate the starter - in my mind that says "Bad Starter" but I can make the starter work by bypassing the ignition.
With a hot wire switch "screwdriver" and the key in the on position I can make the starter crank, but it still will not start, please help. It's got 1/2 a tank of gas, good plugs, and a clean air filter.
