So I bought a 2000 Mazda Protege from s private seller last week, and now the O/D off light and check engine lights are both on. I took the ATF dipstick out and the fluid was a light brown color. Does this mean it's still safe to change, or is my transmission completely shot. The car still seems to upshift/downshift fairly responsively. Any help would be appreciated
