I have 2000 Mazda miata which is rear wheel drive. There seems to be a loud thudding sound when I ride on the freeway and some thudding sound on the regular streets. The thudding sound comes from the rear passenger wheel. My mechanic after jacking it up showed that when that tire is rotated on the jack it was not rotating freely and was making a weird noise. However the rest of the tires rotated freely without any weird noise. COUld someone assist me to figure out what might be causing the thudding sound from the rear passenger tire.To fix the issue I did the below in the same order and they helped a little as stated but iddn't completely fix the problem.
1)I changed the old pair of tires at the front and left the rear pair which are about 1 year old. Then did the rebalancing and that didn't help.
2) I changed both the rear structs and it helped about 10% but didn't completely fix the problem.
