2000 Lincoln LS sport package?

i have a 2000 lincoln ls that has every option accept for the sport package. now my question is does the sport package and non sport package both have the same transmission with the V8? i was wondering this because my car does not have the slap stick and i was wanting to convert it to where it does have it. is it just as simple as changing out the shifter module under the center console or does it have an entirely separate transmission? thank you
