I have an 00' Civic that has over 163000 miles. The guys at Sears told me that the radiator was leaking and that it needed to be replaced. I asked what they would charge they printed out a 300 dollar estimate for it. They said that they could not replace the rear main seal , that only the honda dealership can do that.... I know that Honda would charge an arm and a leg for something like that. There must be some independent shop i could go to ? Also, i have driven my car and noticed the temperature gage was going up past midway and past the red line also smoke was emitting from the hood of the car. The guy at sears told me that the temp gage going up was "normal". I don't think they knew what they were talking about. I opened the hood and noticed there was white fluid over the radiator. Since i have driven and the temp gage went over the red line and smoke came out does that mean that i totaled the car ???? Or can these repairs still be made ?
