My honda civic overheats when the weather is really hot. A friend of mine said that he had the same problem and his mechanic hooked up the wiring on his car so the fan turns on and stays on while the car is on. Does any body know how to do this. I will appreciate it. Thank You

There is no need to hook up the fan for it to be running long like that. All you have to do is change your thermostat or your water pump. Ok when your car over heat pop the hood open and check the bottom radiator hose it its cold and the top one is hot that means you need a new thermostat. I mean you can hook up the fan to make it stay on but it wont work for long

Actually ur car should automatically have the fan on when it start heating up.
First off make sure u have antifreeze-50/50 cooolant
2nd make sure non of ur radiator hoses are leaking
3rd u never said how many miles ur civic has but ill take it has over 100thousand get ur water pump and ur timing belt replaced
and finally the plug that hooks up to ur fan is right next to ur coolant resevoir if its unpluged plug itn
but BOUT Hving it on all the time is not hood because ull waste lot of gas n that means ur engine is overheatting
