2000 honda accord transmission slipping?

I am not even sure if it is slipping, this is just what people are suggesting. Here are the symptoms of what my car is doing..

When i press my gas from being stopped, my car revs up over 2000 rpm's sometimes higher and my car won't go at first.

Transmission fluid is leaking from the bottom on my transmission, (don't know exactly from where, we think the bottom pan)

This morning when i started to drive to work, i was at the stop sign and instead of reving up then going, it wouldn't go at all.

My drive 4 light is flashing.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what the problem could be and how we could fix it maybe ourselves withouth paying high dollars for a mechanic?

Thank you!

ur trans is shot. i have the same year car. in 2000 honda converted our trans into the new 5 spd trans instead of the older 4 spd. this trans is a ticking time bomb. mine was shot twice in 170,000 miles. sometimes its just the solinoid that goes but if the D4 light is flashing its most likely the trans. i hate to be the bearer of bad news but its gunna cost u a pretty penny. Good luck!!

Get your transmission flushed and filled with a good transmission fluid. Then take it easy while driving. Don't just jam on the gas. If the flush and fill doesn't help, then you already did permanent damage by driving it on low or bad fluid. Hondas are very resilient cars though, the flush and fill should help. If you don't do this now you will have to get a new transmission.
