2000 Ford taurus keeps locking and unlocking itself?

I have a 2000 ford taurus and latley the car has been locking and unlocking itself. I have a remote for it, and when you lock it and push the button twice it locks and beeps the horn. Well it has been doing that the past two nights. The remote is nowhere near the car and it continusly locks and then unlocks itself until i got out and use the key and start the car and shut it off. It will be fine after that anywhere from 5mins to an hour. Any idea what could be causing this?
 
Your door lock actuator is probably either not grounded properly or the positive wire is touching the ground. hope this helps
 
maybe the battery in your key fob is going bad. Maybe the door lock actuator is going haywire and needs replacement.
 
Hi you could possibly have a problem in your steering wheel column ignition system. Something is making contact and not opening up as it should to break the circuit to your locking system. I would take car to your local dealer to check it out. You could call your dealer and find out if there is a notice from auto maker on this problem.They will repair for free,at no cost to you.Good Luck
