Here's what happened.. in the afternoon my 2000 Ford Explorer was fine. My husband decided to mess around with his stereo, sub woofer and the cap for it and he said he touch a wire from the stereo wiring to some metal heard a loud pop, but after the incident the truck supposedly started fine. That night I got into the truck everything was normal until I put the key in and tried to turn it over. Everything went dead. Next morning we took the battery out, checked the fuses everything looked ok. When we put the battery back in we jumped the truck and it started. We let it run for a while then shut her down and later tried to start again w/no jump and the same, everything was fine until we tried to turn it over and everything went dead, bit happened. Both the battery and alternator were checked and came back fine. After having the battery out for a considerable amount of time we replaced it and the truck started right up. We let it run for a while this time. And it was able to restart a handful of times there after. As I was driving the truck to work later it bucked and the check engine light flashed on and off. The truck lost some power, while driving, then would rev and juice up again. This happened several times with in a 2 mile ride and at one point all my gages bounced all over the place. Speedometer, RPM, gas gage, battery gage. All bounced like they were on a trampoline! Any ideas?
