I have a 2000 Ford Escort zx2. Everything was fine until one day it just started skipping 2nd gear. It would rev. up until it would catch and go straight to 3rd gear... But sometimes... If you go slow... Like 5-10 miles per hour and speed up extra slow it will catch 2nd gear and you can then speed up like normal.
I really don't want to buy a rebuilt/used transmisson just to find out it's something stupid like the transmission filter or something.
Has anyone else ever had this happen? Is it possible that the rivits have pulled loose?
