2000 dodge durango abs kicks in at about 1000 rpms w/o pushing the brake what...

...could be the problem? when i hit the brakes no matter how soft the antilocks kick in they also kick in without touching the brake pedal it seems to be at around 1000 rpms when i hit the gas to go or whether i'm slowing down they start to kick in does any one have an idea what causes this phenomenon?
 
have someone with a scanner scan the computer and see what trouble code it gives you, you,ll more than likely get one for a bad abs unit on that or one for a bad speed sensor for the abs ,either one will cause that to happen,it doesn't have to be a scanner just for the brakes to detect a problem with the anti lock system on that vehicle,good luck.
 
Either the tires are not all the same size or one of them is worn more than the rest causing the wheel speed sensors to trigger the system, or you have an intermittent problem with one of the wheel speed sensors. I'd go to the dealer and have the ABS system scanned for codes. A code will be stored even if the light is out. Auto Zone scanners don't handle ABS issues. Ask the dealer if there are any open recalls while you are there.
