2000 CHEVY S10 4 CYL.TRUCK.What could be wrong?

New member
driving on freeway noticed my temp. gauge a lil higher than normal stopped at gas satation open hood engine still running felt radiator cap cool opened but no water.started adding water"engine still running" all of a sudden engine stopped!! could not start truck.checked oil no water in oil,but when AAA tow.picked up vehicle,,,water coming out of muffler bottom of truck silencer!!!
