today as i was on my way to work, the check engine light came on. i did notice that i had the heater on but very low. as soon as i saw the check engine light, i pulled over turned the car off and back on but the light remained at a constant. i got back home in the afternoon with the light still turned on. it was strange to see that the coolant temperature remained constantly between the 100 and the 195 mark as i drove the entire way back. as i got home i opened the hood and immediatley noticed that the radiator fan was on. i turned the car off and on and the fan would turn on as soon as the engine was turned on. what could be wrong here.

Nothing wrong with the radiator fan. It will continue to run after the engine is turned off to cool the coolant down then turn off.
Take the car to Auto Zone for a free check engine light test.

The fan is supposed to do that, the light, no, unscrew that bulb till you figure it out.
