My 2000 Buick Regal recently had a lot replaced in the trans: the valve body, electronics, torque converter, pressure solenoid, etc. After putting a few hundred miles on it, overdrive slips pretty badly under low-moderate acceleration. Here's what I've observed:
-all 3 lower gears work normally
-able to downshift out of overdrive as expected
-slippage is worse at higher speeds
-tachometer flicks up and down during slipping
I've been to several mechanics, including the trans shop that fixed it to begin with. I've received several diagnoses, including:
-engine cylinder mis-fire (this makes no sense, I think)
-trans electronics issues
-transaxle issues
The trans electronics have been reset 4 times now -- after each time, the overdrive works perfectly for another few hundred miles.
Any ideas? 'Bout ready to push this off a cliff... Thanks in advance for help!
