Yeah this is another great film that's based on the 80's, I love it!

i absolutely love this movie and my sister still has it. i bought it on dvd and my sister borrowed it from me lol. it is such a funny movie and i love that it takes place in the 80s.:)

 You just reminded me of a couple scenes, Nik!

Remember Elvis Costello and Martha Plimpton's obssession by him? Ahahahahaha! Poor girl (I love her, btw).

And really - who does want to arrive too early? Not me!

Haha. I tried SO hard to hate this movie when I saw it last year.. I kinda failed.

I mean, I didn't totally love it but it was charming and it felt authentic enough to be believed in. The movie had an amazing sense of setting.

I love how nobody wanted to be the first one to arrive at the party. And the person throwing the party getting all freaked out that nobody would attend and especially when she said something like, "what? is everyone walking the streets of NYC because they don't be to be uncool and arrive early?", then the movie cuts to people walking and saying how is not cool to be the first person to arrive at a party.

I mean, the movie had some good timing and the actors involved were pretty awesome.

Ben Affleck's hair was awful but what the hell.

I had high expectations for this film because of everyone involved (how can you go wrong with Martha Plimpton and Christina Ricci, the latter with the most fantastic Long Island accent?), but it disappointed. Perhaps I expected too much.

It wasn't bad, it just wasn't that great, either. A decent rental.

I just saw this one again and it reminded me what a great comedy this is. All the 80s stuff is funny enough and with a million and one great lines. My only negative reaction to the film is Courtney Love. Her acting is pretty weak.

For those who aren't sure if they like Kate Hudson or Christina Ricci, I always recommend this film. If they don't like them in this then they may really not like them at all.
