Hi there, for the past few months i have had blood in stool. To start with it was a tiny bit of red blood on the tissue, this seemed to have stopped. Now however it looks sometimes that there is a bit of blood mixed in on the tissue, as it is sort of a red brown colour. Sometimes it also feels like i have not fully completed a bowel movement i dont know if that could be caused by constipation. Sometimes i seem to have normal bowel movements where i feel empty. I have no stomach ache or anything like that, i did have a hemmeroid a while back but that seems to have cleared up. Finally it sometimes feels like i need the toilet but i cant actually go, i thought this may have just been due to the fact i was thinking about it due the problems.

Thanks for any help.

Thunderbug: This is definitely NOT normal. Do you feel like you might have hemmoroiRAB? You should got and get checked out and have them do an internal scan of you to make sure you don't have cancer. Are your stools loose or are you constipated and struggling to get the stool out? Do you have stomache pains? You might want to get checked for diverticulosus too. It could be many things but get it checked so you can get treated.

Thanks for the quick reply. They vary depending on what i have been eating, i have not had diarrhea or anything like that. Today for instance i had a bowel movement which felt complete, i wasnt constipated and it wasnt overly loose. There was also no red colouring at all. It just comes and goes from day to day its not constant, this was what confused me. The original bleeding started a few days before i had a hemorrhoid and then stopped a few days after the hemmeroid went.

I also seem to have incomplete bowel movements when constipated. I dont know if maybe chaging diet would help as i dont really get much fibre.

I actually started to think i was imagining it.

Also i have not had any pain at all. As well the ammount of blood at all time has been very small there has never been any large ammounts of blood even when it first started.
i have also heard of Fecal Occult Blood tests which test for blood, would you recommend getting one of these first of just go to gp

thanks again

Thunderbug: You can try increasing your fiber by eating "P" fruits - Pineapple, prunes, pears, etc. Also try taking some magnesium supplements and adding nuts and more fish, like salmon, to your diet. Dark chocolate is a good source of magnesium too. You need to drink water too to keep things flowing smoothly. You'll continually end up with hemmorioRAB if you don't keep things flowing smoothly there.

I don't know what that test is you mentioned but if you can do it, do it, and see if it tells anything. Better to be safe than sorry. Good luck.

Hey, don't worry about cancer. At your age, it could be hemorrhoiRAB, which can occur when people are into weight lifting or from constipation. It could be a fissure. You should go to the doctor, because you saw blood, but don't worry about it. They will probably start by ordering an occult blood test or doing a basic exam.

Try eating some high fiber cereal each day. I've heard to start with half a cup for a few weeks and increase up to a cup if needed (but increase slowly or you could get gassy.) Always drink a full glass of water with high-fiber fooRAB. Some people like "Fiber One" brand.

If you find you're getting constipated more often, do something about it now (i.e. eating more fiber), because if it gets worse, it could end up being a chronic problem.

No worrying. Take care of yourself.

hey thanks for the reply, i have been literally pooing my self, no pun intended, that it might be cancer. Seeing u put that makes me feel alot better. I am going to make a doctors appointment tmrw. See what the problem is and hopefully nothing major.

thanks
